Mom faces charges for using meth in front of baby

A DeSoto Parish woman is behind bars after she allegedly used meth in front of her three-month-old.

On Tuesday Cecelia Carter was taken into custody by the Desoto Parish Sheriff's Office and the Tri Parish Narcotics Task Force.

After received a Crime Stoppers tip agents followed Carter when she left her home.

Carter is accused of putting her baby on her lap as she sat in the passenger side of a vehicle.

After authorities pulled the car over Carter changed her infant's diaper and that's when authorities observed a one gram bag of crystal methamphetamine was stuck to the child's buttocks.

The child was transported to Desoto Regional Hospital for observation.

Carter was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Possession of CDS in the presence of a minor and no proper child passenger restraint system.

The driver of the car, Linda Walker, was also arrested and charged with driving under suspension.
