It's a historic win for the North Caddo High School Girls basketball team. The team brought home its first state championship, but players say the true victory is what's taking place off the court.

The Lady Rebels were honored at Monday’s town hall meeting. Vivian’s mayor, Dr. Stephen Taylor says the team had a season which inspired the entire town of Vivian.

These ladies have been described as too fast and too furious by some of their opponents. Last Friday the tem outscored their opponent 80 to 46.

For many of them the best award was given to them off the court. March 10th was declared North Caddo Girls Basketball Day by the mayor.

The team will be the Grand Marshals at the Red Bud Festival.

The North Caddo Boys basketball team is just one game away from earning a trip to the state championship.
