Three Doctor of Physical Therapy graduates are taking a big career step by starting residency programs at LSU Health Shreveport's School of Allied Health Professions this week.

The additional year of training in either orthopedics or wound care will help the physical therapists specialize in their clinical practice.

Dr. Katie Poisel, from the University of Evansville, and Dr. Anthony Celio, from LSU Health Shreveport, began the orthopedic physical therapy program.

Dr. Paul Murphy, a Medical Univ. of South Carolina graduate, is enrolled in the wound management residency, which was the first credentialed program of its kind in the US.
