Shreveport Police ask drivers to be more aware of motorcycles, after two recent deadly crashes.
The latest happened Friday afternoon on Flournoy Lucas Road. Police said a car pulled out in front of the motorcycle, killing Edward Bergeron, 45.
Officers warn drivers to be careful, especially in summer, since many motorcycles are on the road.
"Don’t rely totally on mirrors. Turn and look and look twice. You may miss that little headlight,” said Cpl. Daniel Chumley. “Always look twice before you make turns, before you pull out into traffic and before you merge either direction."
Cpl. Daniel Chumley said Louisiana motorcyclists are now required to take a safety course before getting their endorsements.
