Emily Mills and her husband Dan own the Sacred Strawberry, a raw and organic food company, and now they are teaching people in Shreveport how to prepare meals in their class, Raw Food Fundamentals.
"We've spent a lot of time in the kitchen preparing products for almost two years now," Mills said "and we felt that it was time to get out of the kitchen and into the teaching arena."
None of the food is cooked over 115 degrees and all the meals made in Emily's classes are meat and dairy free.
Mills said "When you're eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables there's no way that that can't be a good thing."
In the classes you learn how to make staples for lots of different meals with quick and simple recipes.
"We try to do things as easy as possible," Mills said "so that you can even just one new trick then that's, we've done our job."
