A house is heavily damaged during a fire in Shreveport.

It happened Saturday afternoon in the 8000 block of Jackson Square Place. The fire started in the attic area of the house.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the fire. Captain Rick Gary says there were no people in the home when the fire started but two pets were trapped inside.

The house has smoke damage, but it can be salvaged.
