Shreveport Police authorities are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths of a couple found slain inside a north Shreveport home Monday morning.

Just after 9:00 a.m. on February 6, 2017, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a home in the 3300 block of Bond Drive in reference to two people who had been shot there.  As officers arrived at the scene, it was discovered two persons were deceased inside the residence, the victims of gunshot wounds.  The ghastly discovery was made after relatives of one of the deceased arrived at the home, locating both victims.

Based on information and evidence gathered while on scene, it is believed the shootings occurred at some point between late Sunday evening and Monday morning before 9:00 a.m.  While the investigation into the deaths remains active, authorities have reason to suspect one of the deceased individuals was shot by the other, prior to turning the gun on their selves. Police did determine the deceased victims were involved in a romantic relationship prior to the incident.  A weapon recovered by officers at the scene is believed to have been used in the crime.  State child welfare officials removed two minor children from the home, who were present during the ordeal.  The children, both below the age of six, were not harmed and will be placed by state officials.
