A group of Shreveport sanitation workers protesting working conditions have called out sick two days in a row.

The call-outs have caused a back up in trash pick ups and trash cans are left behind.

Jessica Rays trash cans were supposed to be emptied Monday and were still full Tuesday afternoon.

Ray is not sympathetic to the protesters and says "You know there's plenty of people out there that don't have jobs that want jobs that are making 7.50 to 8 dollars an hour and they are complaining because they're not getting a raise. Well if I as a home owner was to rate their performance I wouldn't give them a raise either."

It's not clear at the time how long it will take to get the trash pick up schedule back to normal.
