Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the man responsible for robbing a west Shreveport convenience store early this morning.

At approximately 7:11 a.m. today (August 9, 2014), Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Phillips 66 store in the 6800 block of Buncombe Road.

Upon arrival, patrolmen learned a male suspect armed with a semi-automatic handgun entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect went behind the counter, took an undisclosed amount of money and ripped the phone out of the wall before fleeing the scene of the crime. No one was injured during the robbery.

Investigators are working at this time to recover surveillance footage from the business as part of their ongoing efforts to identify the suspect.

He is described as a black male standing approximately six feet tall with a thin build who was last seen wearing dark colored clothes, dark sunglasses and a red and black Chicago Bulls hat with some sort of white cloth covering his face.

Anyone who might have any information regarding this crime should contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org
