Stonewall voters elect Mayor Charles Waldon to another term.  He received 286 votes, which accounts for 64 percent of the vote.  He ran against land owner Charles Hicks.

Waldon told NBC 6 he plans to continue working on bringing the town a grocery store, fixing the roads, and preparing the budget. Although he recently looked into getting rid of the police department and using the Desoto Parish Sheriff's deputies instead, he said citizens concerns made him change his mind. He now plans to keep the police department and expand it by hiring another officer, and purchasing more equipment. He was unavailable for comment election night.

Hicks said he plans to stay involved in the town and work with the mayor and town council. He wants to see more transparency within the local government, and more public meetings, before the wheels turn to abolish things like the police department.
