A Bossier City man is in jail after he allegedly made threats to kill his girlfriend and himself and then refused to surrender to officers.

The standoff happened shortly after 12 a.m. Friday in the 2400 block of Brookside Dr.

When officers arrived, the suspect's girlfriend had already left the house unharmed but the suspect refused to come out of the home.

BCPD SWAT Team was called in to negotiate with 43-year-old Michael Dale and just after 4 a.m. he surrendered to officers without incident.

Dale was taken to University Health for an evaluation and later booked into the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.  He has been charged with aggravated assault.
