Police have arrested a man who allegedly beat up his wife during a home invasion in north Shreveport.

The incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of St. Luke St.

Marques Dorsey, 35, is accused of kicking in the door of the home and physically assaulting his wife.

The female victim told officers she was visiting friends when Dorsey arrived at the scene and began chasing her on foot.  She later ran into a nearby house to escape Dorsey.

The victim was treated on scene for minor injuries.

Dorsey later surrendered to authorities and was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

Dorsey was charged with Criminal Damage to Property and Home Invasion along with four unrelated traffic warrants.
