Starting July 1st, three major changes are on the way for Shreveport trash pick-up.
The first will be the most noticeable, bulky items that do not fit into the garbage can will not get picked up with the weekly collection. You must schedule an appointment through public works.
Second, any new townhouse developments with private driveways must set collection points or hire a private company to pick up. Trucks are getting stuck and not moving quickly through the narrow streets.
Third, unless you have a medical waiver, the city will no longer offer back door pickup services. Around 300-400 customers were grandfathered into the program, that will end July 1.
