Tuesday night Shreveport City Council postponed a vote to charge more for trash disposal.

This ordinance would impact the pickup of larger items left on the side of the road like---furniture and big appliances. This is in an effort to keep the city streets cleaner.

If passed locals would need to schedule a pickup appointment. Washers, dryers, refrigerators and furniture would costs $20 per item for removal, tree limb removal would amount to $20 per pile and the fee for tires would be $2 a piece.

At Tuesday's meeting Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover told the council he's happy the dog park controversy is now behind him. Council members amended the 2014 Capital Improvements Budget.

Council members approved allocating funds for the new Stoner Avenue Dog Park. The measure passed with a unanimous vote.
