Two arrested for stealing copper from a Texarkana church

Two men are behind bars in connection with a copper theft in Texarkana, Texas.

The theft happened shortly early Sunday morning at a church in the 1700 block of W. 6th St.

Thomas Wright, 25, and Earl Simms, 41, were taken into custody after they were seen walking in the middle of the road carrying an air conditioning unit. 

Simms and Wright were booked into jail.  Simms was charged with Theft and Pedestrian in Roadway and Wright was charged with Theft.
