A Shreveport woman accused of stabbing a man was taken into police custody Friday morning after a suspicious person call led to her arrest.
Sonya Hayes, 41, was arrested this morning, after being observed sitting on the front steps of the home in the Highland neighborhood of Shreveport, where she allegedly stabbed 52-year-old Herman Davis while he was sleeping around 4 a.m.
Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a suspicious person call just before 8 this morning. at a home in the 300 block of Herdon Avenue. Officers were told that a woman who reportedly stabbed a man earlier this morning was located at the residence.
Upon arrival at the home, officers were able to located Hayes, who was promptly taken into custody without incident.
Investigators gathered information that suggested Hayes stabbed Davis as he slept inside his home. Reportedly, Hayes was staying inside the residence when the incident occurred. Davis sustained minor injuries and was transported to University Health Medical Center.
He is expected to make a full recovery. Following her arrest, Hayes was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
