Update: Shooting lands one man in hospital, another behind bars

Police believe an argument may have triggered an early morning shooting in a Shreveport neighborhood.

The shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of Prospect St.

Mayson Lane, 21, is accused of shooting Manuel Garita, Jr. in the legs during a verbal altercation.

Garita was transported to University Health with non-life threatening injuries.

Lane was booked into the Shreveport City Jail and charged with illegal use of a weapon.
