NBC 6 is your Local Election Headquarters.

A candidate for U.S. Senate makes a quick stop in Shreveport.

It's part of an eleven month tour for Brannon McMorris.

He's traveling around the state meeting voters, and explaining why he should become the next U.S. Senator.

"All the sense has gone out of politics, it's nothing," said McMorris. "It's sensation that's made from a 24 hour news cycle and that doesn't serve the people and that doesn't serve tax payers. We need common sense in politics."

McMorris has many goals if elected.

They include reducing debt and spending, raising minimum wage, and marriage equality.

His next stop is home to Baton Rouge.
