Food manufacturers and restaurants may soon be under the gun to make their products less salty.

The FDA is preparing to issue voluntary guidelines, asking the industry to reduce sodium levels.

Dr. Susan Kemp, Chief of Medicine at Christus Health, stopped by NBC 6 News Today to talk about why lowering salt intake is so important.
