(COURTESY SAU)DALLAS, TX - In addition to his being named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week, Southern Arkansas sophomore left-handed pitcher Timothy Buchanan has been named as the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) Central Region Pitcher of the Week as it was announced by the NCBWA on Thursday.
Buchanan earns the regional honor in response to his win over previously ranked No.4 Texas A&M-Kingsville. In that start, Buchanan worked seven shutout innings while scattering four hits and striking out a career-high 12 batters (10 swinging, two looking).
Buchanan and the Muleriders are set to open up GAC play this weekend with a road series against Southwestern Oklahoma. That series starts with a single game on Friday, February 14 with a first-pitch time of 2 p.m.
