Everybody has a story, we feature one young mans story about how football has helped shape his life. This week we go Inside the Huddle with David Wu.

"I’ve been playing football my whole life, since I was really young. I’ve always loved the sport," said David Wu, Captain Shreve senior.

Wu’s a linebacker for the Captain Shreve Gators. Wu earned his first career start filling in for an injured teammate last year. That same game he racked up 18 tackles. He expects his first start as a senior to be even better.

"I’m expecting at least 20 tackles. So me and Ingram our other linebacker I think we’re going to rack up some tackles here," said Wu.

Coach Richard Lary’s known Wu for a few years now and says what he sees off the field is the best part.

"He’s what you’d want in a son, a son-in-law, an employer, and employee you know he’s just a good guy," said Head Coach Richard Lary.

Wu also excels in the classroom.

"4.2 GPA in the classroom and a very successful young man. Football ends at some point for everyone and he’s prepared. He’s taken care of business at school and has a good head on his shoulders," said Coach Lary.

Acedemics seem to come pretty easy for the senior, and what he really looks forward to comes at the end of the day.

"More like school gets in the way of football because honestly I look forward to everyday at football. I kind of cruise through the school day and then football makes me feel good," said Wu.

Winning is the cherry on top for this football player, the best part of the game for him is the brotherhood that’s developed over the years.

"Love my teammates. I’ve grown up with them. It’s been four years, they’re my best friends. I love them all," said Wu.
