Lady Griffins Ready For State Challenge

April 26, 2017 - The North Desoto Lady Griffins are heading down to the state tournament for the fourth straight year.

They know what to expect when they get to Sulphur, and they say this is a business trip.

The question for the girls is: Being the two time defending state champs, will it be easier or harder to win again?

EC Delafield said, "I would say it's harder playing because everybody wants to beat us, and we have this really big target on our back, so we're going to have to play our A game like every game. But knowing that we've already been there, and knowing what to expect, it would be easier mentally to prepare ourselves.

Bayli Simon said, "I think it's always going to be a little harder because people are out there to beat you. You won last year, so they're coming out there and they specifically want to beat you, but going there we've had experience, so that kind of works in our advantage."

The Lady Griffins play their quarterfinal game at noon on Friday against Lakeshore.

If they win, the semi-finals and finals would both be on Saturday.

All games will be at Frasch Park in Sulphur.
