Mansfield, Loyola Split on the Hardwood

February 10, 2017 - The Mansfield Wolverines are the District 1-3A champs after beating Loyola, 60-57, Friday night. In the girls game, Loyola picked up a big win over Mansfield 61-33.
In the boys game, the Wolverines were able to take a lead when Derin Washington was able to find the bottom of the net.
Loyola would quickly answer when Tony Dorsey got his shot to fall. That tied the game up in the early goings.
This game would go down to the wire, but it was the Wolverines picking up the road win as they take down Loyola 60-57, and win the District 1-3A crown.
In the girls game, the Loyola Flyers had all the momentum.
Loyola had a big lead in the fourth quarter, but Mansfield's Sha'kahia Warmsley got an easy three to fall to cut into the Flyers lead.
Loyola though would not be denied on their home court. K.C. Sims was able to get a free lane to the basket. Her shot extended the Flyers lead to 27.
Loyola would go on to protect the home court as they would take this one 61-33.
