Mudbugs say 'No Pressure' down the stretch

The regular season is winding down for the Shreveport Mudbugs, just seven games left on the schedule and the Bugs are clinging to a five point lead over Wichita Falls in the South Division standings.

Mudbugs currently in 2nd place which would give them home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

With a date with the Wildcats on the horizon this weekend, meaning every game gets that much more important.

"They're important for our game but they're important for the standings because Wichita is five points behind us and trying to catch us" said Mudbugs head coach Karlis Zirnis. "At the same time we got to make sure we play our style of hockey and gear ourselves for the playoffs."

"You can't play with pressure. If you play with pressure you're going to lose pucks" said forward Gueorgui Feduolov. "You have to play with your strengths, you just have to be yourself when you play. You can't play with pressure."

The 2nd place Mudbugs go on the road for a two game set with 3rd place Wichita Falls Friday night.

Puck drop set for 7:05.
