"To go undefeated and win state,” said Tommy Deviney.

“Expectations are always high at North Desoto,” said Head Coach Scott Abernathy.

They take their football seriously at North Desoto. The goal is simple. Get to the dome and win a state championship.

“15-0 and State Champions. Our goal here is to hang a banner and wear a championship ring,” said Coach Abernathy.

“As a team we want to be in the dome in December and playing for the state championship,” said Austin Barnes.

Last year the Griffins started 1-4. They then rattled off 6-straight before running into the eventual state champions in the 2nd round of the playoffs, so they know how important it is to get started on the right foot.

“Hopefully a little faster of a start and maintain how we finished,” said Coach Abernathy.

In this day and age where teams have high powered offenses that light up the scoreboard. The griffins would rather pound you on offense.

“ We play old school football. We're going to run the football, maintain the line of scrimmage, try to chew up some clock and play really good defense. Hopefully just a ground and pound kind of deal,” said Coach Abernathy.

Three yards and a cloud of dust that could lead the Griffins to the Dome in December.
