NATCHITOCHES -- The Northwestern State home baseball and softball series this weekend have changed schedules due to anticipated rainy weather arriving possibly Saturday evening. Both NSU teams will play at noon Saturday.

The Demons' baseball game Sunday has shifted to Saturday, creating a noon doubleheader against Nicholls at Brown-Stroud Field in a battle for first place in the Southland Conference standings. The series begins tonight with a 6:30 single game and will wrap up Saturday.

The Lady Demons' softball doubleheader Saturday has been moved up two hours and will start at noon against Sam Houston State at the Lady Demon Diamond. Southland Conference rules prohibit three games being played on the same day. The third and final game of the series remains slated for 1 p.m. Sunday, with the possibility of a later start if rain lasts into Sunday morning.
