After two straight 1-9 seasons the Southwood Cowboys are prepping for a much improved year.
The problem was we played 3 quarters of good football and we're either wore out or spent and couldn't finish district play. We couldn't put 4 quarters together.
Since our losing streak we just want to be the best we can. We just pushing off to a winning season.
With 8 seniors who have started since they were sophomores. The Cowboys are cautiously optomistic.
We've just grown together bonded together. Hopefully this year we can show what we can do.
We got something to prove this year. People talk, we want to shut them up. We've got to motivate ourselves in practice, go hard in practice and we should do good in the games.
The goal for Southwood is to be in the mix for the playoffs.
Ultimately, that's our goal is to have a shot at the playoffs to win enough games to be in and see what happens.
Which would be the 1st shot at the playoffs for this group of seniors who feel like they have something to prove.
I want to make sure I go out with a bang. This is my last year. I just want to make sure I leave it all on the field.
Coaches say losing motivates, well these young men are motivated enough, they feel it's their time to win.
