A Texarkana, Texas man who intentionally set an apartment building on fire pleads guilty to arson.
A Texarkana, Texas man who intentionally set an apartment building on fire pleads guilty to arson.

David Gray, 41, entered the plea on Thursday and admitted that he started the Dec. 5 blaze at an apartment complex in the 500 block of West 5th St.

TTFD Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Chris Black said, "The design of the building, with only one exit from the second floor, along with strong winds, made this a difficult fire to control and extinguish."

There were no injuries but it took firefighters more than 6 hours to get the fire under control.

Gray was charged with arson of a habitation, which is a first degree felony.  He was sentenced to 5 years in the Texas Department of Corrections.
