Assistant fire chief faces theft charges

The assistant fire chief in Ashdown, Arkansas has been arrested for stealing more than $2,500 in gas.
The assistant fire chief in Ashdown, Arkansas has been arrested for stealing more than $2,500 in gas.

On Monday Wesley Redfearn was taken into custody and charged with theft of property.

An arrest affidavit  obtained by NBC 6 states that Redfearn was filling up his truck but charging it to the city.

The act started in July and continued for three months.

When confronted Redfearn said he was taking diesel from Red River Oil because of financial pressure from a divorce.
