Authorities capture woman wanted for silver scam

A woman who faces theft charges in Bossier City has been arrested in south Texas.
A woman who faces theft charges in Bossier City has been arrested in south Texas.

Monique Reyna, 23, of Corpus Christi, was taken into custody Tuesday after a traffic stop in Aransas Pass.

Reyna, who is accused of selling bogus silver bars to a local business, faces charges for felony theft by fraud, forgery and identity theft.

Reyna's bond is set at $100,000 and plans are underway to extradite her to Bossier City.

Meanwhile, investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for her suspected accomplice Rodney Kennedy.

Kennedy, 40, of Livingston, Texas is wanted on a charge of felony theft by forgery.
