Bossier City approves budget

The Bossier City Council has set its budget for 2014.
The Bossier City council approves the 2014 budget, without much change from last year.

The total budget is just over $48 million, with sales and property taxes bringing in most of the revenue.

City officials say they expect to see a 2% increase in sales tax revenue next year.

"This year and the last few years we've been doing quite well at keeping in budget and keeping the city operating smoothly," says Mark Natale, Bossier City Spokesperson.

The city also has $9 million in the reserve fund.
