The daycare worker charged with abusing young children at a south Bossier daycare pleaded guilty today before Bossier District Judge Parker Self.

Tammi Hilliard, 28, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of simple battery this morning, according to her attorney, John Settle. Hilliard was arrested in August, after video from Bellaire Learning Center, showed her treating children roughly by jerking them around, spanking excessively and even throwing a toy in a child’s face.

Settle said there was no plea agreement made with district attorney, and each count of simple battery is punishable by up to six months in jail and with up to $1,000 in fines. Self ordered a presentencing investigation, and scheduled sentencing for April 16.

Doris Williams, also charged in the case, will be in court March 11.
