You should be receiving your property tax notices in the mail very soon and there are several ways you can pay them.

If you are mailing a payment, send it to the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office, Property Tax Department, P.O. Box 850, Benton, LA 71006.

Walk-in tax payments can be made at one of the Sheriff's substations on 2510 Viking Dr. in Bossier City, 7076 LA Hwy in Benton or on Arthur Ray Teague Parkway at the foot of the Shreveport-Barksdale Blvd. Bridge.

You can also go by the tax office on the first floor of the Bossier Parish Courthouse on 204 Burt Blvd.  All locations will be open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for holidays.

Those who come in person may pay with MasterCard, Visa, check or cash. All credit card transactions will incur a five-percent service charge.

To pay online, visit www.bossiersheriff.com <http://www.bossiersheriff.com  and click on the "Pay Property Taxes" tab at the top right of the screen. From there, search to find property by entering the assessment number, name, address or P.O. Box number.  You'll be prompted to select a method of payment, either electronic check or credit card. The electronic check option will ask for banking information, such as the routing number and account number.

The deadline to pay property taxes is Dec. 31 and additional charges will be applied for late payments.

Each of the substations will also have barrels where you can drop off canned goods for Operation Blessing, the Sheriff's food bank program that feeds the elderly and needy families on Christmas.
