It's a class with a purpose.

It's a class with a purpose.

On certain Saturdays throughout the year, the Bossier Sheriff's Department hosts a free self defense class for women.

The class usually runs from 9am-noon at the Viking Drive Substation at 2510 Viking Drive in Bossier City.

The training is free of charge, and is limited to 40 applicants (first-come, first-serve basis).

Those 14 and up and participate in the self defense class for women.

Instead of a charge, it's asked that you bring canned goods or non-perishable food items as donations.

The items will be given to their food bank program, Bossier Parish: Operation Blessing.

Attire is comfortable because there will be "hands-on" training.

You can call the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy at 318-965-3525 to sign up.

You can also go to http://www.nlcja.com/home/ for more information as well.
