U.S. Sen. Mary L. Landrieu recently announced that Bossier Parish Community College will be awarded money to better equip students for the workforce.

BPCC, who is receiving $3.5 million, is among three Louisiana community colleges that have been awarded the money.

The funding is made possible through the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant Program funded through the 2009 Recovery Act.

Sen. Landrieu said, "Targeted funding like TAACCT grants for innovative partnerships between community colleges and businesses to train and educate workers is key to our strategy to develop our Louisiana workforce. With the right training and the right skills, we can grow and expand the middle class and secure Louisiana's economic future."

Central Louisiana Technical Community College in Alexandria will receive $2.75 million and Delgado Community College in New Orleans will receive $2.1 million.
