Caddo Commission postpones vote that would give Biomedical Research $500 thousand a year

The Caddo Parish Commission has decided to postpone a vote that would give the Biomedical Research Center’s Entrepreneur Acceleration Program $500 thousand dollars a year for the next five years.

The Caddo Parish Commission has decided to postpone a vote that would give the Biomedical Research Center’s Entrepreneur Acceleration Program $500 thousand dollars a year for the next five years.

The vote has been postponed until the first of the year. Commissioners plan to travel to Austin in November to see how that city’s program works.

The research center already has a 1.74 Caddo Parish millage tax that it receives from citizens.  Part of that tax money will also fund the program. That tax will not expire until 2017.
