Bossier and Caddo parishes could soon have separate offices to handle natural disasters and emergencies.
Yesterday, the Bossier City Council discussed splitting the Caddo Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness next year.
That makes one office for each parish.
City and parish officials say due to the growth of Bossier, it's best to split the resources.
"A tornado comes through for instance, or an ice storm, or flood, if all of my office and staff has to concentrate on is one parish, then certainly that makes it easier to just the geographic region we cover that would make it easier," says Sandy Davis, Caddo Bossier Office of Home Security and Emergency Preparedness.
Another meeting will be held in January to make the final decision.
