An Alabama man is behind bars for possessing more than $100,000 in stolen property from Caddo Parish.

On Tuesday Matthew Marsh, 26, of Cleveland, Alabama, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on two counts of illegal possession of stolen things.

Marsh was arrested in Blount Co., Alabama, on a felony warrant obtained by Caddo Sheriff's Det. Terry Richardson.  He is accused of stealing a company truck back in December.

Investigators also obtained a search warrant for a building that was rented by Marsh.  They discovered thousands of dollars in stolen property from Webster Parish, Bossier City, and Birmingham, Alabama.

The stolen items included a 2006 Dodge flatbed truck with equipment, a Big Tex 40-foot gooseneck trailer and mechanic tools.

Detectives say Marsh, who had been living in the Minden area, was using the building to disguise the stolen property by repainting it and removing serial numbers.

Other suspects are under investigation and additional charges are pending against Marsh.

Anyone who has purchased items from Marsh is asked to contact Det. Richardson at (318) 681-0700.
