Caddo Sheriff's Office honors a hero

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is giving special recognition to an employee for his heroic actions.

Tuesday morning Cpl. Marcus Green was awarded the Distinguished Action Medal during a ceremony at the Northwest Regional Re-Entry Facility.

Cpl. Green was honored for rescuing a citizen from a smoke-filled house on Denny Drive back in July.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Steve Prator also promoted Yolanda Williams to director of Jail Records.

Williams, who is an 18-year veteran of the sheriff's office, has also served as manager of the Fines and Bonds Department.

Sheriff Prator also recognized the following employees for their years of service to the Caddo Sheriff's Office:
