Charges mount against man who failed to show up for court

A Keithville man is back in jail after missing a court appearance for aggravated battery and aggravated assault charges.
A Keithville man is back in jail after missing a court appearance for aggravated battery and aggravated assault charges.

David Yates, 42, was arrested Tuesday night in the 2800 block of Holiday Lane on outstanding bench warrants.

When officers arrived Yates jumped out of a window and ran into the woods.  A short time later K-9 Copper located Yates and he was taken into custody.

Yates was found in possession of 5.3 grams of suspected marijuana, 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine, drug packaging materials and drug pipes.

The bench warrants pertained to his original arrest in May for hitting a woman in the jaw with a wrench.

Yates was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on warrants for aggravated battery, aggravated assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Yates was also booked on new charges of resisting by force, possession of schedule I, possession of schedule II with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
