Christmas came early for some of Texarkana's youth.
On Tuesday, the 21st annual "Shop with a Cop" was held".
The event, gives children in need the chance to get gifts for Christmas.
This year, more than 60 boys and girls participated.
Each were partnered with a law enforcement officer.
They were then given $100 which they could spend however they wanted.
"Most of these kids, some of them don't even get anything for themselves," said Public Information Officer Kristi Mitchell. "They'll choose a Christmas present for their brother or sister or maybe mom or dad. We sometimes have to almost talk them into buying something for themselves, so it's a very humbling experience and it's a real good opportunity for our officers."
The event was held on both sides of the state line.
It involves both cities' firefighters and police officers.
