Cities, parishes sign joint proclamation for Veterans’ week

The Veterans Celebration Committee along with local government entities listed above today signed a joint proclamation in the Bossier City Council Chambers. The document proclaims Nov. 4-11 Veterans Celebration Week.

Last Friday Caddo Parish Commissioner Ken Epperson, chairman of the Veterans Celebration Committee, discussed details of this year's celebration.

Groups from Caddo and Bossier parishes will hold the parade between 2 – 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Louisiana State Fair Grounds.

The parade will begin at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum and end at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club.

The parade will include veterans organizations, drill teams, marching bands and floats.

Free admission and  parking will be provided for all veterans and their families and veterans are encouraged to wear their organization's hats and shirts.  An honor ceremony will follow the parade at the Boys and Girls Club.
