Tuesday afternoon CPSB members announced the names of the three finalists for the superintendent position.

Theodis Goree,  who received 9 votes, is currently the Area Superintendent for Mansfield ISD in North Texas.  Goree is also a native of Caddo Parish.

Terrence Brown received 6 votes.  Brown's last job listed on his resume was the Southeast Regional Superintendent for Memphis City Schools in Memphis, TN.

Before the finalists were selected the board went into a closed meeting for less than 30 minutes.  During the session the board discussed the 13 applicants.

When the board reconvened six board members voted to suspend the search.  Six wanted to move forward with the search.  The board eventually approved moving forward with three finalists.

Interviews will begin next week.  A superintendent will be selected by October 25th.
