A local affiliate is selling dresses for cash... and a good cause

A local organization hosts event aimed to outfit high-school and college age girls all while raising money for breast cancer awareness.
Susan's Closet is an annual fund raising event hosted by the Northwest Louisiana affiliate of Susan G. Komen. This event aims to outfit high-school and college age girls with beautiful and current pre-owned formal dresses for their many special occasions like homecoming, pageants, and prom. Girls and their parents from all over the ARK-LA-TEX made their way out to peruse the racks of many dresses which will be donated from locals and sold for $25 each, regardless of the original purchase price.

Over 75 percent of all funds generated by the Komen Northwest Louisiana Affiliate through the Race for the Cure® and fundraising events like Susan's Closet, stay in Northwest Louisiana while the remaining income goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs supporting national scientific evidence based research around the world.
