A water boil advisory will be issued beginning at approximately 10 p.m. tonight for residents and businesses along a portion of Benton Road. The boil advisory is required since water service to the area will be turned off while crews work to repair a water line. The repairs will begin at approximately 10 p.m. and are expected to be finished at approximately 4 a.m. at which time water service will be restored however the boil advisory will remain in effect.
The boil advisory affects an area from 1903 Benton Road to 2528 Benton Road. It also includes Tilman Drive from Benton Road east to 2309 Tilman Drive as well Northside Drive from Benton Road east to 2507 Northside Drive (see attached map).
Due to state regulations whenever a boil advisory is issued it must be made public by advising local news media.
The advisory is a precautionary measure and recommends those in the affected area voluntarily boil their water for at least one minute before consuming it. The advisory pertains only to water used for consumption. Again the advisory is only a precautionary measure. This is a boil advisory, not a boil order.
