A joint investigation involving law enforcement on both sides of the Red River has led to the arrest of two people for allegedly passing thousands of dollars in stolen and counterfeit checks at local businesses.
William Travis Holmes, age 38, and Crystal Dawn Troutman, age 35, both of Bossier City were arrested Thursday on charges of monetary instrument abuse and identity theft.
Both were taken into custody after detectives with the Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force and Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force served a search warrant at Troutman’s residence at the Cloverdale Apartments in the 2200 block of Shed Road.
The execution of the search warrant on Thursday was spearheaded by members of the Bossier City Police Department’s S.W.A. T. team and resulted in the recovery of numerous checks, driver’s licenses and other identification documents that appeared to be stolen from individuals and businesses in several states, including Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma.
Holmes and Troutman were booked into the Bossier City Jail and later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility. Holmes faces similar charges in Caddo Parish.
Detectives with both task forces are continuing their investigation which will likely include the involvement of multiple out-of-state law enforcement agencies due to the evidence recovered from Troutman’s apartment.
