A water line break today has resulted in the City of Bossier City issuing a boil advisory for residents and businesses in an area along a portion of Arthur Ray Teague Parkway.

The advisory encompasses the Parkway from and including Boom Town Casino south to and including the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home. The advisory also includes Loop Street, Lillian Street, and Robert E. Lee Street as well as Diamond Jacks Casino.

The advisory is being issued due to the water pressure in the affected area dropping below state required levels while city crews worked to repair a broken water main today on Delhi Street near the intersection of Hamilton Road.Due to state regulations whenever a boil advisory is issued it must be made public by advising local news media.

The advisory is a precautionary measure and recommendsthose in the affected area tovoluntarily boil their water before consuming it until the health department can test the water. The advisory pertains only to water used for consumption.Again the advisory is only a precautionary measure. This is a boil advisory, not a boil order.
