Safety matters, and as the kids get ready to head back to school, local bus drivers prepare as well.
Bossier Parish schools are holding a three day in-service for teachers, school staff, resource officers, and bus drivers.
More than 400 drivers, aides, and substitutes are learning routes,  new school policies, and new laws on the road.
Sonja Bailes with the Bossier Parish School Board says bus drivers are "part of our team. We're all a big team aime at making sure that a child is there for an education and to be safe on the bus, at school, and on the return trip home."
If you want to find out what bus your student is riding this year, you can go to the bossierschool.org and click on the school bus icon.
Just type in your address to get the bus number for your child's route.
For more information, like pick up and drop off times, as well as bus driver information can be found by calling transportation with Bossier Parish Schools.
