A local church inspires inner city boys to succeed in life.
St. Mary Baptist church opened its doors to boys in the neighborhood today for its first ever boys to men conference.
Boys ages eight to 18 learned about gangs, teen domestic violence, and opportunities within the united states military.
"The boys to men conference is so we can invest in our young men. We want to teach them to be god fearing young men and productive citizens and that way we know we're investing into young men that's going to be good husbands as well," said Pastor Ray Snow.
"I like it because it teaches me how to be better in life because I usually put myself down,” said Tyler Stacey.
Organizers say about 60 boys were in attendance.
The conference also included a free meal.
