Natchitoches Central boys dethrone reigning state champion Scotlandville to claim program's first-ever state title
LAKE CHARLES, La - There's a new chief on top of Class 5A.

 The Natchitoches Central boys picked apart defending state champion Scotlandville 60-53 on the way to the program's first-ever state championship.

NCHS sophomore Cameron Lard made his presence felt early and often, scoring 24 points, adding six blocked shots, and collecting 10 rebounds. Lard was helped out by teammate Austin Guy's 10 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Scotlandville's LaMarcus Lee contributed a tem high 19 points for the Hornets, who finish the season with a 28-3 record.

The Chiefs lose only three seniors of this year's state championship team that finished the season with a 33-2 record.
